Principles of Injury Prevention

Train Smarter and Safer

by Dr. Tamer Issa, PT, DPT, OCS

Tuesday- March 7, 2017

6:00-7:00 PM

at ISSA PHYSICAL THERAPY

Every day millions of people participate in sports and athletic activities to improve their physical and emotional well-being. However, sports activities can also result in injuries ranging from minor aches and bruises to more serious ones that typically involve muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones, and joints. Inability to fully participate in physical fitness and sport due to injury can lead to ongoing pain, limited functional ability, worsening physical health and emotional distress. The question of injury prevention is a complex topic, but the more you know about it can decrease the likelihood of future injury and accelerate your recovery.

This seminar will cover:

  • Understanding Injury Mechanisms and Risk Factors
  • What's Your Load and Loadability?
  • The Role of Soft Tissues, Joints, and the Nervous System
  • Fundamentals of Optimal Movement
  • Principles of Training and Recovery
